Thank you, thank you, thank you

Surya: Can you believe that we only met a year ago? It seems like I’ve known you forever. Stephen once commented that we were incredibly different. And we are. But parts of us – the big parts – are so similar that it’s almost scary sometimes. You encourage me to do my best, cheer me on in all my endeavors, and make me laugh (I LOVE how you write Azami). I’m half-convinced that we were sisters in a past life.

Paige: You’re incredibly kind, funny, and caring. It’s always fun to talk to you and hear your opinions, and it seems like you’re never far from smiling. You’re a bright, happy, positive force in my life, and I’m incredibly lucky to have met you. Thank you so much for being my friend!

Allison: It’s always, always, always fun to be with you. I cannot help but delight in your imagination, and some of my best memories at Ohlone are with you. You’re quirky, bright, and fun, but you also think about really deep things that I grapple with myself, and it’s always comforting to know that I’m not alone. You’re a true friend, and one that I am absolutely blessed to have.

Wendy: I love your unique outlook on life. I’m inspired when I see you act, and your presence is always comforting. The joy that you take in things is always wonderful to watch, and it’s infectious, as most happiness is. You have a wonderful singing voice, and also have a knack for taking the initiative when guidance is needed. Whenever you’re missing from our gatherings, I can’t shake the feeling that something very important is missing.

Sam: Your endless knowledge, which you happily and willingly share, as well as your sense of humor (such as Third Person), are absolutely wonderful. I love having conversations with you, as you usually have an outlook on the situation that I haven’t considered yet. You also have unending patience with me, which, though it doesn’t always seem like it, I deeply appreciate.

Stephen: Your determination with things, whether it be tennis or school or French, is truly something to behold. One of the biggest highlights of last year for me was having conversations with you and Sam in history. I delight in your opinions on America, and your creativity. You also seem to have unending patience with me and Surya that I doubt an angel would possess. That you’re still my friend is something of a miracle.

Eric: You never hesitate to call me out when my behavior is unacceptable, and I appreciate it. It’s always fun to have conversations with you on DeviantArt, and while I haven’t seen you in a while, it always nice to know that you’re trying. You’re also something of an origami god – the three-headed crane was really cool! Not to mention your good-natured attitude towards my stealing characters that you draw and then writing stories about them.

Lia: You’re laid-back, relaxed, have amazing taste in music, and are a wonderful, incredibly strong girl and amazing friend. You’re creative, and you always know how to make me smile whenever I’m absolutely certain that my world has ended. Sure, we fight sometimes, but we always get over it pretty quickly. And I think that’s a part of true friendship.

Rose: I’ve know you since kindergarten, and you’ve always been an invaluable friend since then. You listen to me when I just need to complain, you give me advice when I’m flipping out, you laugh at the same things I do. I have absolutely no idea what I’d do without you, and I hope I never have to find out.

I’ve got no idea what I did to deserve such wonderful friends, if I deserve you guys at all. I know that you’ve all heard this before, but I suppose it never hurts to say it again, am I right? Whenever I think about you, I’m filled with this overwhelming sense of gratitude that I was so lucky to stumble upon such incredible people. Thank you so much for being in my life. And I have a feeling that I will always try to thank you many, many times throughout my life. And every single time I will find that it’s not enough. But I will thank you anyways. Because I feel so, so, so lucky to have found you.

Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive.  ~Anäis Nin

Oh, stop it! Your making me blush ^_^
Mara, you are one of best friends I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I love how you have a passion for some things-whether it be making cookies, singing, doing ballet, or writing a story- that show a little bit of your personality to the world. I think people underestimate how amazing you are, which is a shame. I hope this post finds you in good health (unlike me who is sick) and very happy. I will see you soon my friend.

    1. Oh, thank you! hug I’m glad that you’re feeling better now, and it was really fun seeing you!

  2. 😀 Thanks for putting me on this list of awesome! Why does everyone keep saying I’m an origami genius, there are people much, much better than me.
I’d like to see you again, I’m going to try and make it to the park next month. I love your writing and your unique way of looking at things. Especially when they involve those pointless doodles of mine.

    1. The reason why people say you’re origami genius is because YOU ARE. And I don’t know the people who are “much, much better” so… I doubt that they seriously exist. And thank you!

That is all I have to say on the matter.

      2. You’re still better. Or you will be. There’s not much difference.
